Bitter… Sweet… and Bittersweet
Posted on February 25, 2011
** Sniff, sniff… wobbly sigh ** Another one of my Sweet Peas has turned one! How does a year go by so fast?! She’s a sweet one-year-old, and there’s no doubt that she’s absolutely beautiful. However, she did bring some bitter tears at first… but I think it made this photo extra sweet:
She did just enough crying to wet her amazing eyelashes and make them look even more prominent. (She’s a smart girl, so that may have been her plan.) Fussiness happens and it wasn’t a problem… I brought out my secret weapon of calmness. Snacksies of the Kix variety. Worked like a charm. Kid tested, photographer approved.
AAANd as if she wasn’t sweet enough already, let’s have her dig into some icing! Ladies and gentlemen… it’s cake time.
Even with icing all over her face, I can’t stop looking at her EYES…. Doll. Face.
To her mother, the expert Bow Putter-Backer-Inner: I always love listening to you talk… like I said, you are my most southern client… it’s the pretty “belle” type of southern that we all love to hear. Jon, you impressed me yet again by remaining cool at a photo session while missing an important game. Since this has happened more than once (sorry buddy) I’m thinking about getting a TV in my studio for you. Thanks so much for your patience, guys! I’ll be in touch when the rest are finished!
I Had Her From Hello
Posted on February 22, 2011
She beamed at me. The minute she was carried in the door, she BEAMED at me. It was one of those smiles that involved much more than just a happy mouth… her eyes took on a smiley shape and she turned inside out for me. All I did was say “hiiiii”… she beamed… and then I nearly fell over from my swoon fit.
She actually used up all her smile energy with that first megabeam. Woops… maybe I shouldn’t have been so charming so fast. At one point, all she needed was a breast-milk trance provided by her mother and it worked wonders. Liquid gold has magic powers, ya know.
She’s not lacking in lashes OR legs… She came with a very squeezeable set and I had to squoosh on them a couple of times…
I coin this her “busy face”…

… and I have never been jealous of a baby’s fingernails until now. FAB-ulous, darling:
The word must have gotten out… babies all over town are proudly sporting my favorite expression…
Doesn’t get much cuter than that… unless they stick their bottom lip out… and BAM! – Give her the world?
She sure is beautiful.
To her parents- you two are truly great, you know that? You work together as a terrific well-orchestrated parental team. And, Nick, I am still impressed with your turbo diaper-changing skills. I had fun laughing with y’all… I hope you like your preview. The rest will be finished very soon!

The Rosiest of All Chubber Cheeks
Posted on February 19, 2011
With the perfect amount of rosy to her chubby-wubby wittle cheeks, this tiny girl is the doll of all dolls. Her two older sisters have been bringing their chubby cheeks into my studio for quite some time now, so I just knew #3 would be proudly packin’ some cheeks as well. I’m proud to say she added to her cheek supply since her newborn session. Her mom said “she owed us this time” since she was very restless and fussy at that newborn session. (Despite that… those newborn photos turned out sooo good. She is the baby in the middle photo of my Facebook profile pic for my business page. You would never know she was fussy.) Well, this time around, she was a champion the entire time… a perfect little angel.
Love this FACE!
Zeroing in on some baby chub:
Oh so baby:
Could you please pass the rolls?
To her mom, another client-turned-friend…. I love how with each photo session through the years, we learn that we are more and more alike. You must be pretty dern cool
. I hope this preview is more than you can handle!
A very special thank-you to Sara Smile Creations for the fuzzy pink hat and the dark brown cocoon!
She’s a Study Pea
Posted on February 15, 2011
I look at her sweet face and I can see the wheels turning… she studies everything around her. I just know she is carefully storing tons of info in that pretty little head of hers. By the time she reaches preschool, she’s going to be spatting out her knowings like a machine gun of super smart-ness.
And her lashes are so beautiful, it’s almost sickening:
Taking it in…
I LOVE drooly chubber-hands!
Show us the face you make when you ask your daddy for money, honey:
That ought to do it! But you don’t even have to try that hard… I’m sure this look will do:
PREPARE YOUR EYEBALLS… after looking at the previous photos, this next one will be very bright. I hope everyone had a hapy Valentine’s Day yesterday! I posted a different version of this photo on my Facebook Business Page.
To her mom, a client-turned friend… I really enjoy photographing your sweet pea every few months and every time I see YOU, you look even more fabulous. As usual, I enjoyed our talks and your cool-as-a-cucumber attitude towards all of life’s craziness. So what if you almost left without your stack of dresses… you still have it all under control and I MEAN that!
