Have you ever watched a doll sale on one of those shopping network shows late at night while trying to bore yourself to sleep?  (No?  Oh…  Well, – ahem- me neither then.)  IF I had seen it a time or two, the saleswomen would say things like this upon one glance of this sweet baby doll: “Now, this is TOP QUALITY porcelain, folks.  Handcrafted to perfection and we only have limited quantities available, so pick up the phone before it’s too late”…

As soon as I laid eyes on her, I just KNEW her top-quality, porcelain skin would look stunning in black and white.  I almost felt compelled to run to the phone while supplies lasted.  But, this darling is truly one-of-a-kind… and DEFINITELY not for sale.

A long-distance client… I’m proud to say she came all the way from Georgia!  Wow, that makes me want to SWAY a little bit!  …**sway**

She was SO sweet, too.  (Being honest, she DID need to get a meltdown out of her system first.  She’s a baby… It happens and it’s noooot a big deal to me when it does.) After her mama fed her some Liquid Gold, she was cooing away and melting my heart all to pieces.

I grabbed this next shot during one of those “calm-baby-down” moments.  She’s on her mama’s shoulder and her daddy was giving her the paci… I think it’s my favorite.

I love to visit Toe City:

I think this last one is her “concentration face”.  I think she’s extra smart because 3-months old is pretty early to be concentrating.  Pass the chin-rolls please!

To her parents: You deserve a ton of credit for your incredible team work.  You two were like a well- orchestrated machine of parenthood at its best.  You guys were awesome and I was so glad to meet you all!  You make such a precious family.  I hope you like your preview- the rest will be finished soon!

Wait a minute, wait a minute… STOP everything.   Boing, bong, ker-plunk… The Cuteness Meter overheated the minute this little pretty was carried into my studio.  Blue eyes +  the perfect amount of toddler-chub to her cheeks + a sweet, sweet demeanor = CAN I KEEP HER?  Her behavior was out-of-this-world.  She was super content the entire time… such a well-behaved little tot.   And, she has a long, glorious hair for a one-year-old.

Hi there, Precious Love…

Her mother specifically asked for this next shot.   Oh, the lashes shot?!    Just about everybody gets this shot from me… it’s a “Main Ingredient” in the galleries.  It just never gets old for me:

Ah, the ”Pointing Stage”…  one of my favorite toddler phases.  (And Bokeh City is the cherry on top!)

Don’t you just want to hold this little face in your hands?  I’m pretty sure I did that at least once during this session…

I could brag on this little girl all day, but her mama deserves some bragging, too.  She’s keeping a big secret and that’s her creative supertalents.  She made the gorgeous bows and the dresses were handmade as well…  (all but the cream one) as well as the hats.   I tried to peer-pressure her into setting up an Etsy shop… I’ll gladly post the link if she has one.  We shall see. ;)

It was SO great to meet you both.  I’m glad you were on my waiting list and I’m even MORE glad I was able to get you in when another appointment needed to reschedule.  A face like hers belongs in front of a camera and I feel so grateful that the camera was mine.  I hope you like this preview… I’ll be in touch when the rest are finished soon!

This charming little butter bean always impresses me so much.  He was incredible for his entire session.  Incredible.  He can naturally charm without trying.  He inspires me to talk all Shakespearean–ish.  Ahem…  He hath stoleth my heart.  How doth thou doeth every time!?  I know I just did some serious Shakespeare lingo butchering.  Don’t blame me, blame the Romeo:

How he loveth my snacksies:

(I have to say… nothing slips by this kid.  He kept his eyes on me the entire time.  You can see what I mean just by looking at these photos.  I love it.)

To his parents: While we’re on the subject of Shakespeare (kinda)… what better time for me to tell you I think you’re all sorts of royal.  Your gorgeous little family has got it together and I always feel blessed to be your photographer.   You know the drill from here!

I hope everyone has a VERY…

Red hair?  Yes please!  CURLY red hair?  Oh, HECK yes!  Add in a big, contagious smile and you get one sweet and loveable one-year-old.   He was a hat-wearing champ, too.  Usually, hats are intolerable for little ones, so I was proud.  My son won’t wear hats, but this one is so cute, it might be worth gluing to his head. (If anyone goes to Janie and Jack, hide one of these hats for me.)

He spent a lot of time studying me.  I love when that happens because that means he will look RIGHT into my lens.  Good job, little buddy…

I couldn’t help myself:

And what’s a first birthday without a little cupcake destruction?  He knew all about it.

But, did he LIKE it?  Not nearly as much as I loved his hair…

 But, now he’s even sweeter.

To his mom:  Are you sure you didn’t make up that story about having FOUR kids?  Aside from being super tiny, you looked WAY too fabulous… very put-together indeed.  I’m still trying to get over my shoe envy.  To his dad, the Burp-Cloth Master: Thank you so much for moving at the speed of light to wipe the icing off my hands after I fixed the cupcake.  It’s definitely impossible for me to shoot one-handed and because of you, I didn’t miss a beat!  You two have an adorable boy!  I hope you like your preview…  The rest will be finished very soon.
