I'm so glad you're here

My passion for photography is genuine in that my heart beats a little faster when I pick up my camera. For years, I have put blood, sweat and tears into this passion of mine. (You want to know about the blood, don't you? I have a story...Just ask and I'll tell.)

Yes, I'm a photographer... but I'm also a wife, a mother of two, a SLIGHT germaphobe, a perfectionist (with photography... you do NOT want to see my desk right now) and a serious goof-ball. (Is that an oxymoron?)

I'm fun, I'm REAL...I'm also real fun. Most of all, I'M GLAD YOU'RE HERE... (and I secretly love you for it) Thanks for stopping by.

When moments cannot be put into words, let the photography do the talking.

Growing Up | Spring Hill, TN Photography

Posted on October 4, 2012

Whoa, whoa, whoa.  Flippin’ WHOA.  Somebody has been growing up.

Just yesterday, he was all monster trucks, Diego, and T-ball.  Now, he’s all iPods, Sponge Bob and Baseball.  (The serious kind of baseball where the kids actually know what they’re doing.)

Why must this whole growing-up thing happen so quickly?  And why must it happen so extra-quickly with my nephew??!

Now, all growing up aside… surely he’s too young to know about planking right?  I’m thinking this was just a funny coincidence:

He is a character, though… and he knows an awful lot… so I wouldn’t put it past him.

And, here it is, folks. The photo that makes him look all grown-up ish.  There’s one in every bunch:

Oh, but a profile shot of him smiling with his long lashes makes him look young-ish again.

And, I’m convinced that no matter how much he grows up… his smile will always be youthful.  Like this:

” Once there was a tree… and she loved a little boy”…

“And the boy loved the tree…….very much. And the tree was happy.”  ~ Shel Silverstein, The Giving Tree

To my brother and sister-in-law:  I want you to know that I enjoyed shooting these photos as much as you enjoy seeing them.  It was precious one-on-one time with my nephew… I love him so!  Thanks for being SOOO patient and allowing me to put your photos aside while I got caught up on client deadlines.  It has been something for me to look forward to and I’m so happy to be working on them now. The rest will be finished very soon!  I love you!
