Two + One = Family | Spring Hill, TN Family Photography
Posted on March 9, 2012
I just love this little toddle tot, and when you put him between his two wonderful parents, it paints a very pretty picture. A harmonious one. Ah, harmonious-ness…. I like that.
Now, I’m not mentioning any names, but someone was a bit shy at first:
It wasn’t long before he turned his Shy Face into his Look-at-How-Cute-I-Am Face. I love ALL their faces! Hello, sweet family:
Little man was all over the place. He was very interested in my heater. He thought it was a hair dryer and he kept asking to dry his hair. Cutest kid ever.
You can bet your life I was acting gooberish the whole time… especially when I shot this next one:
And even though this was a family session… I couldn’t resist grabbing one of this face alone. Makes me want to reach down and pick him up. Hi, little love…
To this family: I adore you all and I hope you like your preview! I love that you said it’s like waiting for Christmas or a birthday when waiting for your photos! *warm fuzzies* Well, the “big day” is here… and the rest will be finished soon!
Sibling Sweetness | Spring Hill, TN Children Photography
Posted on January 4, 2012
An almost 2 Curly Q and his older sister, Sweet Voice joined me one day for some sibling shots. They were precious and I loved every bit of their session.
They both brought along their shiny, baby browns and they did a great job looking right at me and being cute. Sounds easy enough, but when you’re a young one, sitting still and looking at a camera isn’t really that easy. Well, unless your photographer wears something crazy on her head. And, for kids like this, the being-cute part takes no effort at all:
Their mama owns the shop next door to my studio called, “Here We Grow Again”. If you haven’t been over there, you need to check it out. Great kids’ consignment clothes, toys, bedding, etc. It’s very cute and organized, which makes shopping easy. Click HERE and click the “Like” button on her Facebook page. She is great about posting updates and sales.
It was freezing cold on this day… but you can’t tell, right? K, good.
Yup. Gotta love it:
Sister Sweet Voice… You can almost hear it, can’t you:
It’s amazing how much younger I can make her look just by using a different point of view… like this:
Awww… long lashes and wispy hair- She’s beautiful.
Now, for the Curly Q who was almost two. I could stare at this photo all day. Just look at his little baby pout mouth. *Swoon*.
One of the main reasons his mama wanted this photo session was to capture his curly hair because his daddy had been giving her a haircut countdown. So, of course I paid homage:
I’m coo-coo for curls! What perfect little swirls. (Yes, I read my kids Dr. Seuss tonight.) I believe, after seeing these photos, his daddy maaaay be missing those curls… just a wee bit, no?
To their mama: WHAT were you so worried about?! Your kids were amazing. I’m jealous. I wish my 2 kids would listen like yours so I could get even ONE photo of them together! Surprisingly, in many cases, photographers’ kids are the worst when it comes to modeling. (At least, that’s what I tell myself.) Thanks for being so patient! I’ll be in touch!
Crooner | Spring Hilll, TN Baby Photography

For a short while, he didn’t make a sound. Then, once he started making noises, he didn’t stop. Constant crooning. I loved it. I think he liked the sound of his own voice… ( I don’t blame him)… it was his way of entertaining himself, I think! He needed some cuddles here and there and he was good to go. Cuddles and croons.
He had such a beautiful eye color… a color that I could not even pinpoint. Blue-ish, green-ish, grey-ish, brown-ish… all mixed together.
I love that expression and I love his classic baby look. Perfect skin, squishy cheeks and a fuzzy blonde head… and little white pegs that showed when he smiled. I think he’s proud of them:
Baby toes + bokeh = ILOVETHIS:
Such a genuine expression here:
Awwww… quite possibly my favorite baby part: little neck folds. I can almost smell the baby lotion just looking at this:
He loved to smile for me when I took my camera down. He liked when I called him Teasy McNeasy.
Big brother and sister came along, too, and I loved their shiny dark eyes and their lovely, even skin tones. They were SUCH good kids. They were so well behaved when I needed to take their photos…. and they played nicely for the rest of the session while I worked with baby brother. They truly earned their lollipops.
To their mama: I love how your kids were giving me hugs before they even knew my name! Instant love! I still can’t figure out who you remind me of, and I wish I could remember that new word you made up. (It had something to do with “fuzz”). It was so nice to meet you- your children are beautiful and nothing short of delightful! Thank you so much for your patience- I hope you like your preview and the rest will be finished soon! Happy New Year!!
Blast and a Half | Spring Hill, TN Family Photography
Posted on December 6, 2011
I have photographed this family a couple of times in the past, and it’s always a lot of fun. With all of us in the room, there’s a whole lotta carrying on going on. Talk of movies and music mixed with lots of laughter makes for a good time.
At 16 and 18, these “kids” are older than my usual clients, but I make an exception for them because they have gained VIP status over the years. They remember my “old studio”. They are a blast, and their little mom is the half. A blast and a half! Who could say no to that?
No, this is not the 18 year old… this is the 16 year old. (“He has a beeeeaard!”) I love how his hair does “the swoop” so well. He digs 60’s rock (awesome) and he loves to sleep. (I get that… figuratively, not literally. …Unfortunately.)
THIS is the 18 year old. She hums when she smiles (which I love) and she digs panda bears and alone time. (I get that… figuratively, not literally…. Unfortunately.)
I have to mention that we rocked out to Bohemian Rhapsody. YOU try to hold still during that one part. You know which part I’m talking about. The part that makes you do this:
And this last one is a recreation of the same shot from a few years back. They nailed it.
Teens, enjoy your alone time and sleep while you can! I sometimes (all the time) miss those things. To their mama… I’m so glad I was able to get you off of my waiting list and onto my books! You three are always so much fun and the photos prove your closeness to one another. Your patience means the world to me as I plow bravely through my busiest season. I hope you like your preview- the rest are almost finished!
