Crooner | Spring Hilll, TN Baby Photography

Posted on December 31, 2011

For a short while, he didn’t make a sound.  Then, once he started making noises, he didn’t stop.  Constant crooning.  I loved it.  I think he liked the sound of his own voice… ( I don’t blame him)… it was his way of entertaining himself, I think!   He needed some cuddles here and there and he was good to go. Cuddles and croons.

He had such a beautiful eye color… a color that I could not even pinpoint.  Blue-ish, green-ish, grey-ish, brown-ish… all mixed together.

I love that expression and I love his classic baby look.  Perfect skin, squishy cheeks and a fuzzy blonde head… and little white pegs that showed when he smiled.  I think he’s proud of them:

Baby toes + bokeh = ILOVETHIS:

Such a genuine expression here:

Awwww… quite possibly my favorite baby part: little neck folds.  I can almost smell the baby lotion just looking at this:

He loved to smile for me when I took my camera down.  He liked when I called him Teasy McNeasy.

Big brother and sister came along, too, and I loved their shiny dark eyes and their lovely, even skin tones.  They were SUCH good kids.  They were so well behaved when I needed to take their photos….  and they played nicely for the rest of the session while I worked with baby brother.  They truly earned their lollipops.

To their mama: I love how your kids were giving me hugs before they even knew my name!  Instant love! I still can’t figure out who you remind me of, and I wish I could remember that new word you made up.  (It had something to do with “fuzz”).  It was so nice to meet you- your children are beautiful and nothing short of delightful!  Thank you so much for your patience- I hope you like your preview and the rest will be finished soon!  Happy New Year!!

Babies are always anxious to show me their tricks and dancing was this guy’s trick of choice. I think he liked the reaction he got from us, too.  But, isn’t 3 months old a little young to be dancing?  I just don’t usually see babies jamming at this age.  It happened more than once during this session and since he danced to “Five Years Time” by Noah and the Whale, it proves to be no coincidence.  I don’t think anyone can listen to that song and not move a little.  Even if I try to hold still, my big toe still finds a way to dance.  If you feel like jammin’, check it out HERE.

Now, swoon with me over this darling face:

I have to mention that he did NOT like to lay down… he would go from happy to spittin’-nails mad in a milisecond if I tried to lay him down.  When he wasn’t mad, he was extra, extra good to make up for it.  Since 3-months is way too early to sit up (kid’s getting ahead of himself!) we had to use some tricks to keep him happy.

I love, love, love his sweet little face:

He love, love, loved tummy time:

And he love, love, loved my stork pouch.  As for me… I love, love, love this little bit of drool.  (In case someone in his family doesn’t love, love, love the drool, they will also have a drool-free option in their gallery.)

And I love, love, love that when he smiles big… he smiles with is whole face… not just his mouth.  His eyes smile… even his nose smiles.  Bless him!  Did somebody order a sack of Holiday Ham?

Do you think he knows how handsome he is?  This next photo says yes.

I love, love, love a baby in a hat.

To his parents: Despite the fact that your gorgeous boy got all dragon-like and breathed fire on me a couple of times, I really enjoyed your session.  You are all so fun to be around.  Aside form that, your boy is beyond precious and I love, love, love him!  I love you, too, for being so patient as your deadline collided with Christmas.  I REALLY appreciate your patience- the rest will be finished soon!

You may recognize this face from her newborn photos on my website.  She is the “Guitar Baby”.  I told her parents that their wee one has already earned “mascot status” because so many people talk about her photos.  She is still a little one, but she filled out SO much since that newborn session.  I love her little mouth and I love how her forehead wrinkles a little on the one side when she looks at me.

She wanted to take a nap, but didn’t want to miss anything.  I think her little arms and legs moved the entire time and despite her wearing herself out, she never once cried.  She did a small amount of complaining but was fairly content for the most part.  There’s something so sweet about a pretty little girl in rosebuds:

I think this next one is my favorite… I’m sure this is the same face she’s going to make when she fills her parents in on the playground gossip:

Aww, hi Mama:

When she was fighting sleep, she found her thumb:

Her parents requested a shot of their Vanderbilt rings on her toes.  These types of photos are usually done when the baby is sleeping.  Since she wasn’t going to nap, we had do it with her awake and these little feet were just a-movin’ the whole time!  I think we succeeded, though!  I love the size difference between the 2 rings.

To her parents- You guys are so cool.  You know what good music is and it was great discussing favorite artists with you while your little one nursed.  Hey, Landon, you still owe me that email- of course I forgot the names of those bands you urged me to check out!  Thanks for another great session… I love your girl to pieces and I’m already looking forward to her 6-month session.

WAAAAAH! | Spring Hill, TN Baby Photography

That’s ME that’s crying, not the baby.  After having a newborn, 3, 6, 9, and 12 month session with me, I will love your baby like one of my own.  And I will be all teary in the eyes during the 12-month session. I get attached.

Luckily, I had Men at Work blaring some good ‘ol “Land Down Under” to keep my sadness to a simmer.  Plus, as I predicted and hoped… this little man let his inner party animal loose again and started dancing.  He knows what’s good.  His dance moves go undocumented, though, because they only consisted of the slightest repetitive bend of the spine.  Obvious (and hilarious) to those in the room, but not so much to the camera.

His big brown eyes, tiny little mouth, and his unique little side-tuft of hair that has always been longer than the rest… make him a one-of-a-kind muffin that my camera loves more every time I see him.  And he always sits so nicely and looks up at me with his shiny browns.  He’s kind.  Such a kind little man who is going to make this world a better place, I just know it!

I think his lashes get longer every time I see him.  I like how they are straight, too.

One millisecond.  That’s how long this hat was on his head.  He was fast, but I was faster.

His mama didn’t expect to be in any of the photos.  Surprise!  hehe

Cake time!  He didn’t like the feel of the icing on his hands. This makes me laugh.

We had to teach him that it was edible.  (You can see his longer-than-the-rest hair tuft to the left… I love it!)

In this last one, I feel like he’s saying, “Check me out, I’m filthy.”  Or, “Anyone want to come in for a hug? … Anyone?”

To his parents: Despite how fast time flies, I may suffer from withdrawals while waiting for his 2-year session.  Feel free to bring him by to see me any time!  (This goes for all my Sweet Peas!)  I hope you like your preview and thanks for making this year such a fun one!

Clients, thank you so much for being so patient with me during my busiest busy season to date.  Please know I am working continuously to get all of your photos finished as quickly as I can without sacrificing my standards for quality.  You are all so important to me!  Also, please excuse my writing… I feel like my words have lost their flow and I’m blaming lack-of-sleep.  Onward!
